• Power cords corresponding to that particular external hard drive are recommended for use. This is because, if you use a power cord, not specified for your hard drive, there may be possibilities for your external hard drive to get spoiled due to high power pitch problems.

• Even lightning strikes are found to provide a high power pitch problem to external hard drives. It is recommended to unplug your external hard drive during the lightning tempest or during abrupt power failure.
