Taking a backup of all the data available in your system makes it useful, whenever there is a loss of data or misplaced data. The best of taking back up to your system is to use external hard drive devices. There will be no problems arising in retrieving your data, whenever you need it. Even though you have a lot of memory space in your external hard drive, it is essential for you to save all your backup data in an orderly manner. Also, every time when you need to shut down your system, check whether all the opened documents or files are closed and saved.

Connect your external hard drive to your system, and then go to ALL PROGRAMS and click ACCESSORIES, in that pick the SYSTEM TOOLS MENU. By selecting this, a backup wizard will start running and will tell you what are the essential files and its location in your system. Select the files and start your back up operation to your external hard drive.

Copying all your required files and folders for backup in an external hard drive is a simple process and it should be done effectively. Usually Windows operating system has three six folder, containing all the essential files for back up. If you miss anything from this folder, then sure you are missing something important for your operating system. For copying all the data files, you can rely simply upon copy operation, where you can select all the data, drag it and put it in the required output folder in external hard drive.
